Since I haven't been posting as much, I decided to spend 1 post giving you a quick run down on some of the highlights over the past few months... Here goes...
- We went to visit my sister and her fam over Memorial Day. They live on what I call the Tuttle Farm - 80 beautiful acres in the middle of nowhere Missouri... (okay, not really... it's just outside of Kansas City, but whatever... Missouri is in the middle of nowhere, itself.) We had the best time, and I was sore for days after dusting off my riding boots.
- McKenna starts Kindergarten here in a couple weeks. AHHH! I know, right?? Well, she set a pretty high goal of wanting to read 100 books before school starts. So off to the library to get a library card we went... she's been doing great and is regularly checking off the numbers on her cute Summer Reading chart.
- After years of having long hair, I finally cut it off!! AHHHHH!! And I love it!!!
- I picked up another fun, new gig, working for Jill Dyson Ministries. Jill and the rest of her team are so much fun to work with! If you don't know who Jill is, check out her website! She has some great music and an even greater mission!
- Speaking of work, I've had a few more articles published in American Cheerleader Magazine, in the summer and fall issues. I'm currently working on another one for the winter issue.
- Over 4th of July, my friends and I all took a trip to the high class city of Hardy, AR. Over the past few years, we've all gotten really busy (with kids, jobs, life...) and haven't spent as much time together. This was the first time in a long time that the whole "crew" was together. We need to make an effort to continue making an effort to be together.
- Bryant's family came to visit a few weeks ago. When they left, they took McKenna with them to spend a few days at her Aunt Storm's house in Chattanooga. MK had a great time and came home with tons of stories of fun things they did. I had forgotten what it is like to have only 1 child, and I had no idea what to do with my spare time! Meda and I spent some QT together though, and had a good time! Luckily, McKenna is back and we are back to our normal, crazy schedule.
- I made my first "real" work of art with paints! Fleet Feet had a Running Paint Party with local artist, Billy Moore. The night was complete with wine and cookies! Below is my painting. I had so much fun!
Those are just some of the highlights (literally picked out from my
instagram! ha!)
